Firehouse Hockey to host Memorial game for fallen Trooper

Firehouse Hockey is partnering with the University of Delaware to honor Corporal Stephen Ballard and raise money for State Troopers in need.

We have updated the  information below with photos from the game, as well as from the Delaware State Police Back the Blue Line event in Kent County, DE. 

Thank you to all who came out in support of the Delaware State Police this past weekend. 


On April 26, 2017 the Delaware State Police family suffered a tremendous loss with the Line of Duty Death of Corporal Stephen Ballard. His death sent shock waves throughout the community.  Corporal Ballard leaves behind a wife and a 5 year old daughter.  

On June 3rd, 2017 Firehouse Hockey, in conjunction with the University of Delaware will be hosting a benefit hockey game in honor of Corporal Stephen Ballard.  The game will feature Firehouse Hockey member teams Philly Police (Philadelphia, PA) Philly Fire (Philadelphia, PA) and the Camden County Warriors Public Safety Team (Camden County, NJ) plus the Delaware Blue wings. The Blue Wings are a team made up of Delaware law enforcement and their families. The games will be at the Fred Rust Arena at the University of Delaware. The games start at 1:00pm.  Tickets will be available at the door for $10.00 each.

FIREHOUSE HOCKEY HOSTING GAME TO HONOR CORPORAL STEPHEN BALLARD

 

Doubleheader Hockey game on June 3rd to honor fallen troopers memory while raising money for the Delaware State Troopers Association Benevolence Fund

Nashville, TN. May 25, 2017– Firehouse Hockey is honored to announce that on 3 June 2017, we will be hosting a hockey game to honor the memory of Delaware State Trooper Corporal Stephen J. Ballard.

The benefit hockey game will be a double-header event featuring the Philadelphia Police Department Hockey Team, the Philadelphia Fire Department Hockey Team, The Camden County Warriors Public Safety Hockey Team, and the Delaware Blue Wings law enforcement hockey team. The games will be held at the University of Delaware's Fred Rust Arena. 547 S. College Ave Newark, DE 19716,

Corporal Stephen Ballard was an 8.5 year veteran of the Delaware State Police. He served at Troop 2, Glasgow. On April 26, 2017 CPL Ballard was investigating a suspicious vehicle at a convenience store when one of the vehicle occupants attacked CPL Ballard . CPL Ballard was died in the line of duty after a brief firefight. Corporal Ballard is survived by his wife and a 5 year old daughter .

The Stephen Ballard Memorial Hockey game will begin at 1:00pm on June 3rd. Admission for the doubleheader event will be  $10.00 with tickets at the door.  All proceeds will benefit the Delaware State Troopers Association Benevolence Fund.  The DSTA Benevolence Fund was established to provide assistance to injured or fallen state troopers and their families.   

Firehouse Hockey is based out of Nashville, TN. Their mission is to connect public safety hockey teams from around the world.
